I have no idea what it takes to build a game, but this sounds epic. My dad gave my big brother a copy of the first D&D game when we were really young. We played campaigns out of it and bought more as we grew up. I haven't been into it as an adult but the variety of worlds and storylines available now seem really compelling. I can't wait to hear more about this!
I am lucky that the CSOL (Cypher System Open license) has done a lot of the heavy lifting. I love Cypher System games, they are fun and easy to play. The tricky bit has been to add the mechanics I need so it feels like a player is in the Shared Imaginary Space I write in has been a bit of work.
I love that you played with your dad. That is cool. If you haven't played table top games in a while there are so many amazing ones to choose from. I hope you give it try. There are a lot of solo games like Apothecaria, 1000 Year old Vampire, and the ones I am working on if you want to try without having to put a group together.
