Announcement about BAM Vid Vault and Vidders.net
BAM Vid Vault and Vidders.net have decided to merge. Altogether both networks have raised a combined amount of over $400 to help support the hosting cost to pay for a full year of hosting. The team at vidders.net will help manage this transition. The creators of both sites have settled their differences and have reached an agreement that should benefit members of both communities. This partnership will build on the individual strengths of each network to create an amazing vidding community.
While this is good news there will also be a lot of hard work to do in these next 30 days to restructure the networks to be sustainable. If you are a member of BAM or vidders.net or were thinking of being a member of either your contribution and support can help us in our efforts. There is a clear set of possible strategies to make sure this combined network not only survives but thrives. Further information on how you can help will be given at the respective sites. We will do our best to guide you through our intentions and plans.
As part of the fundraising effort there will be a live screening of vids at an event called Vidder Theater which will take place in New York City Movie Theater on August 21 from 3:30 to 6pm. We will be asking for donations to help cover the cost of the space and support the vidding network on Ning. If you are a vidder in the New York area this may be a wonderful opportunity to meet other vidders in live social gathering. This, in and of itself, may prove to be an entertaining evening beyond the fund raising focus. There will be works from all over from various media be it film or television. If the event proves successful it may become a recurring event. We are currently working on the line up of vids to be shown. We will also be looking to get feedback from the audience that can be shared with the vidders work that will be shown. We hope to have some local vidders to be available for live Q & A as well.
If you would like to contact us personally just shoot us an email at info@vidders.net or leave a comment. There will be respective forums on each site to help address questions, thoughts, and concerns.
Thank you.
