Defying Gravity: The Complete First Season
: Set in the very near future, eight astronauts from five countries undertake a mysterious six-year international mission on the spaceship Antares. Follow 4 men and 4 women through the solar system where their pasts reveal intimate and interconnected secrets that have a strange effect on the present and mysteries yet to be revealed. I watched the first episode and found it to be intriguing but at the time I wasn’t in a place to watch the show. This sci-fi thriller is a renter.
Gamer : It’s 2034 and mind-control technology has taken society by storm. A multiplayer on-line game called “Slayers” allows gamers to control human death row prisoners in mass-scale deathmatches. Any inmate who lives through 30 matches wins his freedom. Simon the current champion with 27 wins controls Kable who has lived through them all. kable’s ultimate challenge regaining his identity and independence by defeating the game’s mastermind through launching an attack on the system that has imprisoned him. It may be a renter but I'm concerned that Gamer will not explore the curious and peculiar qualities that make the premise interesting and in turn just celebrate violence or only be a fleeting flight of fancy.

: They believe that they must be the only ones aboard the spacecraft, but can hear sounds coming from its center. Exploring the spacecraft, they encounter several other surviving crew members, and the astronauts start to learn that a terrible event has occurred on board which might affect the survival of the entire human race. I'm gong to have to rent this one. I loved Event Horizon and wonder if this film could fall into that category.
