Legend of the Seeker- Tale of Two Posters

The folks behind Legend of the Seeker and ABC (their distributor) released two very different posters for season 2.

Legend of the Seeker Poster

This is the poster the folks behind Legend of the Seeker released.  Featuring Richard, Kahlan, and Cara, it shows the characters in a strong, positive light.  It looks good.

The ABC Poster

ABC, on the other hand, released a "grittier" more moviesque poster.

Like I said, it reminded me of a movie poster.  I sighed hard when I realized which one:

So, they passed the images through an orange filter instead of a blue filter, and they are highlighting fewer characters, but this is not the way the show should go.

Am I the only one who thinks it is wrong to promote a sword and sorcery show about an egalitarian hero who fights for those who do not fight for themselves with a poster where he and his comrades are looking down on the viewer?

This poster has more to do with the way the Mouse sees its viewers than with the nature of Legend of the Seeker.

Having said that, I cannot wait for the shows return on November 7th.
