The Star Trek Experience Closes Monday

thousands of fans of the "Star Trek" movie and television franchise are converging on Las Vegas to send off the 10-year-old attraction Star Trek: The Experience, which closes Monday with a decommissioning ceremony.
Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., and the Las Vegas Hilton, its landlord, couldn't agree on terms for a new lease.
How smart is it to close the exhibit before the film comes out? The only thing I can even imagine causing this is that the Las Vegas Hilton thought the upcoming film was going to spark a major resurgence of interest in the Star Trek franchise and tried to needle more money out of Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. than they were willing or able to spend on the rent.
I hope they keep the sets handy just in case they need them next year.
