Christmas on Mars by the Flaming Lips

I am stunned and a little amazed by this.  I love amateur films and The Flaming Lips, and somehow I missed it when the twain together did meet.  The plot is indescribable, just watch the video.

Seven years in the making, the Flaming Lips' new "Christmas on Mars" is a lo-fi feat of obsession and endurance.

The sci-fi movie — which frontman Wayne Coyne calls "a freakout" — was created with amateur compulsiveness, patched together on self-made sets in Coyne's Oklahoma backyard (Yahoo! News).

I am sorry for the strange wording, but it is really hard not to do when talking about the flaming lips.  The movie looks weird, but I kind of like weird.  It is on the rent list.
