MO ban on LGBT Adoption Overturned
C.E. Dorsett
As a resident of the Show Me state, this should make me feel better, but...
In a sharply worded opinion Friday, a trial court judge in Kansas City ruled that the state of Missouri may not block an otherwise fit applicant from becoming a foster parent solely on the grounds of sexual orientation (Gay.com).
The appeals will probably come soon, and with the higher courts weighted so heavily against Equality, I fear for the future of this opinion. There is also the possibility of a new law or ballot initiative to prevent GLBT adoption. I hope I am wrong but I don't see MO rolling over letting this ruling stand.
