Took a day off...
...still not rested. (sigh) I need to take a vacation from my life, but that is a luxury I just don't have right now. We started advertising yesterday! I hope some more like minded people will join the forum, and help bring Project: Shadow back. We can make it! Work continues on Phara-un episode three... I know what I want to write, it is just a matter of finding the time to do the work. Brian and I are going to see a movie today. I could use the break, so I hope it's good (of course my idea of good differs from most critics , but I am at least consistent. The Myth of the Liberty vs. Safety Debate
The next time some un-American (usually Republican) person tells you that you can have liberty or safety, I have a story to share with you. For the third time in six weeks someone in China has attacked a school or day care. {Full Story} Just today, a man attacked 25 children and took one 9 year old hostage for an hour. If in a tyranny with no freedom or liberty, a mad man can attack like this, there is obviously no relationship between the amount of freedom retained by the populace and the amount of security they enjoy.
A mad man bent on destruction will always find a way to carry out that wish. The attacks in Russia {Related Story} and China prove the point better than any words ever could. These tyrannies have not been able to stop dramatic attack. Russia is even restricting freedom further. That is not the answer.
We have to focus on ways to prevent and end terrorism, but not at the cost of our national soul.
In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety."
