This is a Bumblebee costume that a Transformers fan made and wore to a San Francisco Metreon event. What an amazing costume! I wonder if it can transform, not that it has to but that would be even cooler.
Star Wars Much Ado About Something?
Tomas Dolby posted a fun update on his blog about some future Star Wars projects that has got many running in circles. Is it much ado about nothing rather then something?
Thomas Dolby, poptastic mastermind of Hyperactive and She Blinded Me With Science fame, posted an update to his blog about his current stay in Tiburon, CA, across the bay from San Francisco. His host, he revealed, is one Paul Sebastien of Lucasarts. The kicker comes when Dolby writes:
Last night he was telling me a little about the forthcoming Star Wars-related TV show, movie and online games—very cool indeed.
Because of the probable NDA he would have to be as vague as to mention a TV show, Movie and Online Games. This would keep the actual project secret and would still be true since Lucas Arts is working on all three anyhow. It sounds to me like he is referring to many of the projects that are already in the works.
Game: The long awaited KTOR online MMORPG. I can’t wait for that to come out. There is also Star Wars Battlefront 3, also can't wait for that one. And probably several other tie in games I would be shocked if there weren’t.
Lucas Arts is working on a live action TV show, a project that has been in the pipeline for a while now. I hope that is what he was referring to. I want to see this project. Since the success of releasing the Clone Wars pilot as a movie I hope this will be repeated for the live action show.
What I wish they would do is:
- KTOR movie, maybe a tie in to the MMORPG
- A movie taking the Star Wars saga forward after the Yavin event or maybe a movie version of Legacy of the Force!
I can hope.
Will Aliens Be the New Vampires?
With the success of recent films like the Transformers movies and District 9 (and to a lesser extent, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which is the 26th highest grossing film worldwide), it seems like Hollywood is going alien crazy, giving the green light and putting a lot of alien-based stories in development — more than ever before. In a couple years, will aliens be the new vampires? -(via /Film)
Will Aliens be the New Vampires?
No, the rise in interest in alien movies is just part of the Hollywood system. The very same system that will also decide people aren’t interested in Aliens as much as Vampire’s.
Hollywood has a past track record for starting many projects to hedge their bet on what the next big fad will be. Many of these projects get dumped or shelved after the sales numbers come in.
The sales numbers are not so good for alien movies. Transformers and Indiana Jones are franchises in their own right and won’t be thought of by the studios as alien movies.
There are also a lot of superhero movie projects in the works. Could the superhero movie be the next thing? With such a diverse story and setting potential there is a lot more that could be explored in this area on the big screen.
Vampire movies are still bringing in a lot for the studios. Do you think they will continue doing more of them? I hope not, it pains me to say that but with so many bad ones out there I would like for it to be given a rest.
What would you like to see as the next movie phase?
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: Meet The Fallen
Have you wondered who the Fallen is from the next Transformers movie? Meet the Fallen, the neanderthal version of the Transformers. He is the first version of the robots which all others came from. His transportation style and fighting style are different from other robots. I wonder if that means that he gallops and transforms into a mounted means of travel, like horses before the automobile.
Wouldn't it be cool if the Fallen fights by pouncing on it's opponent clawing and tearing at them in a more savage manner like an tiger would.
Watch The Beef reveal info about the Fallen in an interview below.

Look At: Transformers 2 Super Bowl Ad
This helped to excite me about Transformers 2. I have had a lot of concerns about this move from some of the rumors, leaks, and concept art coming out of production. Now, seeing the images in action gave me hope that I’m going to get the giant killer robot movie that it should be.
There clips include:
- an attack on an aircraft carrier
- a fight and a chase scene involving Optimus Prime, an even larger Decepticons
- a transformer animal coming out of the ocean.
Maybe the very large Decepticon chasing Optimus Prime is another attempt at getting Devastator right? I can only hope.
When I saw the Transformer coming out of the ocean I could not help but to laugh and think Montauk monster transformer, But seriously I wonder if they are going to bring in either the Dinobots or are they going to pull stuff from the Beast Wars era of the Transformers series.
/film also put up 27 still images from the video to get a better look at the images in the trailer.
Will Says Definitely Hancock 2
I’m filled with joy at the news that there will be a sequel to Hancock.
When we asked Will if he'd ever be up for playing another superhero he replied that there were a lot of unexplored characters in the HANCOCK universe that would be ripe for a sequel and confirmed that we'll definitely see the rumored HANCOCK 2 in a few years. (via JoBlo)
I liked Hancock it is a good movie that had it’s share of faults but overall it was still a fun story with compelling villains and a fascinating premise. My full review is here at Exploring Hancock.
I have hope that the next film will be even better. The biggest problem with the story in the last film was with how one could show the setting without ruining the surprise. This dilemma created an unavoidable awkwardness which made accepting the film difficult for some viewers. Now that the audience is past that point and the setting is established they can get into the wonderful setting and characters and the writers should be able to put together a great story for the second movie. What do you think? Did you like Hancock? Are you excited about a sequel? Would you go to see the sequel?
