Looks like we will get a remake of The Howling. I would love another good werewolf movie but why a remake. The tale of the werewolf in the woods could just as well be made in it’s own right.
This is Joe Nimziki’s first film. The movie will be called The Howling: Reborn. Part of me is holding out hope that it might just be another Howling movie for the franchise instead of an attempt to reboot the whole thing.
The production is planed to begin in February with a Halloween release date.
I, Frankenstein What Will The Movie Promise
Kevin Grevioux’s I, Frankenstein a Darkstorm Studios graphic novel will be made into a movie. Production will begin in July of 2010 and Patrick Tatopoulos production designer from Underworld is attached to direct. They described the movie as:
I, FRANKENSTEIN is a contemporary fantasy thriller in which the original monster of Victor Frankenstein stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world.
This comes across to me as another monster turned savior tale like Hellboy. It does not make it a bad sounding or good sounding movie. What are the connections to Frankenstein and the mythical implications brought forth in the original tale?
Is I, Frankenstein just associated to it’s name sake as a patchwork man that Victor puts together to help save us? Should we expect Frankenstein to ponder it’s existence and the reasoning behind why it was created?
That aside, I’m excited about the visual promise that is given to us with Patrick Tatopoulous involvement in the project. He has demonstrated success in translating the gothic aesthetic in movies with his work on Underworld and gives me hope that the visuals will be awesome.
Remake: Stephen King’s It
Warner Brothers hired Dave Kajganich to pen the screenplay adaptation of Stephen King’s It. A lot of Stephen King fans out there are thrilled that there is another attempt to make It into a movie. Don’t get your hopes up yet.
- Stephen King fans know that his works has a terrible movie adaptation history.
- The writer Dave Kajganich doesn't engender much hope either. His only other success being the 2007 Invasion of the Bodysnatchers remake which was not well received.
This project is in it’s infancy so who knows if it will survive into the production stage… we'll have to keep an eye on this one.
Review of: Underworld Overall Rating: 10 Owner
Underworld is an amazing vampire tale and a sublime experience of the ideals of the vampire world. Watching Underworld will: peek your interest, lure you in, seduce you, and infect your mind with it’s deep, rich setting. It left me wishing the night would never end.
The visuals were stunning. The filming technique, setting and style all helped to lend to the immaculate reality that was established from the beginning and carried out through the end of the film. This was even maintained through the transformation of human into Werewolf which is a difficult feat to pull off in film and they nailed it.
Underneath the city streets, amid the labyrinth of subway tunnels and gothic ruins, the Vampires and the Warewolfs are embroiled in an all-out war that has been going on for centuries. Selene, a beautiful vampire who hunts the werewolf’s discover that they are hunting a human Michael but they want him for none of the usual reasons. Will Selene be able to figure out Michael’s secret in time to stop the events that have been put into motion?
- Lycan transformations looked cool
- The anti vampire tech: UV bullets
- The anti Lycan tech: silver nitrate bullets
- The use of mood, mystery & suspense to meld the thriller aspects and action aspects together.
- Visually stunning
- Maintain Immaculate
- The look and feel of both the werewolf's and vampires
- They really represent the power of both the Werewolf's, vampires and especially the elder vampires
- The scene where he pushed the bullets out of himself.
- The flashback scenes were done really well with a neat effect that gave them a dream like feel
Dislikes / Concerns
- None :) it’s that awesome!

The Avengers Reborn into Heroes of Tomorrow
The Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow is fifth in a series of animated Marvel Comics movie by Lions Gate Entertainment. It will be released on September 2, 2008. The first sneak peek of the film was featured on the Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme animated movie but was under the name Avengers Reborn which sounds much cooler.
- Watch the Trailer in the Project: Shadow HQ
I'm excited to see this one because they did such a great job with the other movies. That said I also have some concerns. This movie has a PG ratting instead of the usual PG-13 rating that the other movies have. I hope that they didn't dumb down the story or make it too kidsy to get the PG rating.
Plot / Story: The Avengers united to protect earth against evil and after defeating earths enemies they returned to their personal lives. They fell in love, had children Captain America and Black Widow had a son, Thor had a daughter, Black Panther had a prince, Hawk Eye a son, Giant Man and Wasp had a son.
Ultron arrives on earth wanting total domination but the Avengers stand in his way. One by one with his knowledge of their weaknesses he defeated each avenger. They hid away their children from Ultron to have hope for the future.
Now with the hope of the future in their hands Iron Man and The Hulk must raise and train the children so that one day they may unite the Next Avengers and overthrow Ultron.
- Voice Actors: Tom Kane, Dempsey Pappion, Aidan Drummond, Brenna O'Brien, Fred Tatasciore
- Director: Jay Oliva
- Studio: Lions Gate
As a little side note Giant Man is the scientific genius Hank Pym also known as Ant-Man. So no worries he and Wasp have a son.

Theater or Renter: The Happening
The Plot / Story: Philadelphia high school science teacher Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg) and other people begin encountering breakdowns in human behavior in major American cities that lead to chilling deaths that seem to be willing suicides committed by the victims. Appearing to be a disease of some sort, the victims undergo a series of steps: loss of speech, followed by disorientation, and the third step is “fatal.” Moore flees from the crisis into Pennsylvania farmlands with his estranged wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel), math teacher friend Julian (John Leguizamo), and his daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez) (via Wikipedai).
I gave the trailer a 5 out of 5. It succeeds in showing us what the story of "The Happening" is about. We get a good feeling of suspense and fear of the unknown. The trailer really sets up the confusion over the tradgedy that is striking the characters in this tale and leaves me guessing over what it exactly is.
I think this will be a Theater. First the names involved in this movie really builds faith in this being a really good film. I really enjoy M. Night Shyamalan's style and for some unknown reason Zooey Deschanel is very compelling to me that and I have enjoyed all of the films that I have seen her in. Also John Leguizamo is in the film and I really enjoy his acting and his ability to play a diverse role of characters. At first I was concerned that this was just another Outbreak film but after looking into it more I get a feeling that it is much more. I actually have 3 theories over what has happened to everyone in the film so I will have to see this weekend wether or not my guess is right.
