Project: Shadow

A gathering for speculative and entertainment purposes only.

Yes, I’m a horror buff, but was surprised to find that when I thought of the movies I know all the words to, not all were horror. This is not a list of my favorite movies, but they are the ones that come immediately to mind. These are movies I quote on a monthly, sometimes weekly basis. Some of you may laugh because you know the same quotes.

Beetlejuice: “I am alone… I am utterly alone…”

Interview With The Vampire: “I want some more.” “Don’t make me do this, I can not!” “And yes, your master is the devil! Get out while you can, you are all free men… RUN! SAVE YOUR SELVES!"

Dracula: “I don’t drink… wine.” “Listen to them… children of the night. What music they make.”

Dirty Dancing: “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.”

Jumpin’ Jack Flash: “This is the face of a woman on the edge. I know- my wife has the same face.”

Red Dwarf: “I’m NUTKIN!” “Pull, or we’ll all be in trouble!” “This is my shiny thing.” “Too slow Chicken Marengo!” (sang) “24 hours.” “They’re dead Kryten. But I was only gone a minute.” “You’re that sure they’re dead?” “Emergency, there’s an emergency going on.” “Everyone’s dead Dave.” "What is it!?" "Will someone smack him!?"

Weird Science: "I don't know what you're talking about and I wish you'd shut up!"

Galaxy Quest: “I have one job on this ship. It’s stupid… but I’m gonna do it!” “And exploded.”

Crybaby: “Don’t pull a flip-out momma.” “Yeah, sometimes shook up old ladies… get cut!”

Now for the hard part… what do all these quotes say about you!?? I don’t want to answer that one. I’ll let you guys decide. Hhehee.

OMG! I forgot about Tombstone. I love Val in Tombstone. Great character.

I totally agree. In fact, Kilmer's portrayal was so good I read the biography of Doc Holiday.

OMG! I totally wanted to do that too. My conviction wasn't as strong though. Hehhe. I'm not much of a non-fiction girl so that's probably what stopped me. I did use the "lunger" slang for a part in my vampire book though. Had to edit it out cause too many questions from first readers for such a sort little thing that no one really needs to know in the story. I thought it was cool that he looked thin and pale-ish and sickly because my vampire would have appeared like that to someone in the old west. Interesting character study. Val's so great sometimes. I know he gets flack, but he seems to really study the charrie before shooting.

This is gonna show my real nerdy-ness. One of my favorite movies with Val is The Saint. I know it's kinda corny, but I love all the different accents and characters Val plays in it. Plus, the chick has heart weakness which I also have and I relate. I also think it's cool that she is so mega smart that she can have those little sheets of paper mean something. OH! And the journal rocks. I do that with my journals... paste things in and do sketches. Ok... damnit! Now I have to go watch it again. :)
I'm mostly into fiction myself. There is nothing better than escaping into another world every night. I know it sucks to have a great idea but no one gets it but you. It can be very frustrating. I've had to scrap many video projects for that reason.
"Why do you say these things to me when you know I will kill you for it?" General Zod from Superman 2.
