I love the show Legend Of The Seeker and would like to see the show continue. I know the show has been given a second season but we need to act as though the show is in trouble before it is in trouble of being canceled. If you are a fan and have access to video footage(I am decabled and dont have access) start making some vids and promote the show. Lets increase the audience before that season two premiere.
That is a really good point. We have to do everything in our power to spread the word and Vids are a great way to do it.
You know what I would love to see. A Vidders guild where vidders can get together to share tips and tricks and take requests from untalented folk like me. Would you be interested in anything like that?
Yes I would like to join a vidders guild. I joined Buffytube for that reason but it seems there is not that many vidders there. On myspace, I tried writing a blog to give those beginners tips. No readers there but I think that was because my page revolved around Fandom.
I sometimes do videos by request. I've also tried to encourage anyone who wants to try editing themselves whenever I can. The hardest part to making your first video is confidence. Your first video always stinks but that is what re-cuts are for.
I am chomping at the bit to do some Seeker vids. The second hand footage I recieved so far hasnt been reliable.
It looks like the call was answered. I was searching youtube today and found many new seeker vids. I usually stay away from youtube because it has not been a friend to me. I just finished the fourth book and was wondering what the show runners had planned for season 2. Thus my search on youtube began.
I have to go to work right now but I can help you out. My advice right now is to watch as many videos you can. Figure out what you like and dont like. Do you have editing software? I think windows has some rudementry softare. How do you plan to get your stock footage(tv shows or movies you plan to edit from)?
I've watched every episode more than once but I don't own them. So should do I have to buy them? And I don't have an editing software. Got one in mind for me?
I use Pinnacle Studios Plus for my editing. You can pick a copy up for around $99. Yes, You should by the dvd set of season one. You will need a tv tuner to capture the video to your hard drive. Back hard drives can be bought cheaply these days. I have two myself. Basically turning your computer into a recorder. I strongly urge you to use footage you generate yourself and save yourself some headaches later on. Once all the technical stuff is out of the way, the fun can begin.
My internet computer runs windows xp and has windows movie maker included. This is a crude editing program and will allow you to capture video. You can capture video through a usb port tv tuner. These kind of tuners cost about 50 bucks. You will still have to buy the dvds and tuner. I dont know if it is possible to rip video from a dvd and forget the tv tuner and capturing the desired footage. If it is possible, then all you would need to buy is the dvds. If you find out riping video is possible, I would love to know. Capturing takes forever. Does your school have a video production program? If yours does, you may want to talk with the teacher and try to get some help there or use their equipment. When I was in high school and did not work, I did production work for the school on my free time.
i rip my dvds onto my computer, im a huge stargate vidder and i love lots and i keep meaning to make a vid, but its so hard to leave my stargate comfort zone and start with a new series but i shall try. Also season 2 has been pretty interesting so far.
My comfort zone was Angel/Buffy vids but was getting bored with producing those kinds of videos. Moving onto a new show has given back my muse and glad to be editing again. Upload some of your work I would love to see some Stargate videos. There are not many Stargate vidders around.
