I particularly enjoyed how Zed explains the dangers and the causes of how people end up following "evil leaders". Do you think this exploration and conversation from Zed was born out of looking at WWII?; ▶ Reply to This

After thinking about it I think you may be right because Germans were not forced to follow Hitler at first, he was voted into office. I suppose this is similar to the way Rahl was recieved in some countries, as Zedd says.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Brian Logee on August 3, 2009 at 1:21pm: I really like how Rahl, on the surface is like most of us: someone who wants safety and an orderly living for our selves, families, and community. In this setting Goodkind has an amazing opportunity to explore the merits and flaws of those ambitions. By having a character who can seek the truth in a situation Goodkind can get into the subtle differences and show where a person can go wrong and sacrifice liberties for safety. Goodkind can also show how those individuals tend to operate in a black and white reality of extremes it is us verses them. This mindset allows the person to objectify those they are opposed to and can then do whatever they want to them since the person becomes an object. In Rahl's case he can perform ancient sacrificial divination with any of his "enemies" because they are merely an object that possess the opportunity for getting desired information rather then a person with certain rights.; ▶ Reply to This

I think Darken Rahl is more scary because sometimes we see that at heart he has some good intentions.; ▶ Reply to This

I haven't decided yet wether I will start the next book now or wait until after season two of the LOTS. As always the book is better, but I am viewing the show as a alternate timeline and enjoying it just as well.; ▶ Reply to This

In July we gained some clarity and became inspired on a better direction that we want to take dashPunk and Project Shadow. This direction is still the vision of what we set out to do: create a place where fans can gather and share with other fans their love of what they are fans of which includes SOT / Legend of the Seeker! Passion = Life
Though we were over joyed to get clarity of vision we like Richard accepted our quest and have now embarked on the difficult journey to make the vision come true. We have fought our way through the veil into the midlands and are now in talks with the strong mud people.
This quest has consumed most of our time and we unfortunately have not had a moment yet to get another episode done though we will as soon as we can. In the mean time if you would like to discuss anything please feel free to start a forum discussion here in Project Shadow and check out the posts at dashPunk.; ▶ Reply to This
